Conflict Affected-States

Development in conflict-affected states has its own set of challenges. Poor infrastructure, changing conditions, and huge social demands make working in this environment unique. With experience working on the ground in these conditions, we help you develop appropriate strategies and practices suited to the environment.

Example:

Chad has seen more than its share of turmoil and strife over the last thirty years and ranks as one of the least developed countries in the world. As part of an IFC team, Alex worked in Chad for two years to bring concrete and lasting development to the country.  The team made significant progress, despite the challenging conditions including a lack of basic infrastructure, and intermittent war and evacuations.  Over the course of two years, the team managed to developed 11 new local suppliers to ExxonMobil, supplying over $35million of goods and services. In addition, the team developed a rural poultry project which now supplies over 20,000 eggs/month to ExxonMobil.
